About Hovingham Village
The village is on the edge of the beautiful Howardian Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is only 17 miles North from the Historic City of York. The Yorkshire coast and the North York Moors are within easy reach and there are many local attractions including Castle Howard, Rievaulx Abbey and Terraces and the market towns of Helmsley and Malton.
The facilities within this pretty village are extremely good and there is a school, Church and Methodist Chapel, village shop and bakery, a hairdressers, a physio, a doctors surgery as well as an hotel and pub, making Hovingham a very popular village in which to live. Public services are good too, with a regular bus service to Malton and Helmsley. Leisure wise, there are tennis courts and a bowling green, a village playpark for children, and Amotherby Young Farmers, not forgetting the idyllic cricket ground on the front lawn of Hovingham Hall where the village team plays. The award winning bi-monthly Hovingham Market is also proving to be very popular.
